The Hawks are rebuilding, it's the preseason, our center has been hurt, our power forward is overweight, two of our better kids are nursing head injuries, and our leader (cough) is the vanilla legend. Senior leadership we are not going to get from Gatens. He's playing for himself. The legacy. No serious expectations for this year....only anticipation of talent incoming next year. Long year...I just want to see the frosh & sophs make progress & grow. It can't be measured game to game. What's all the gloom & doom about? We just started to rebuild. The future begins next year. What was fun to watch tonight or against Campbell or Creighton? This team is soft. Nobody steps up to stop runs---really disappointing. When McCaffrey talks about running stuff, what is he referring to? I see no semblance of an offense.
