No decisions yet. Still assessing damage. 2-3 other plates found loosened but not in imminent danger of falling. Believes safe enough to hold women's game there tonight. Expects to be ready for Ohio State game March 2.

Glass just finished newser. You want to see the gist of what was said follow @ZachOsterman on Twitter. Hoosier beat reporter for Indy Star.

Glass blamed it on unusually heavy snow on the building's roof which caused it to sag, apparently loosening some plates. Not sure if the plates are anything but cosmetic.

The building's roof is sagging.....anyone else see a problem with this?
Is Carver's roof about to cave in as well?

Here's story from the Indy Star writer:

IU expects Assembly Hall will be ready for rest of home games

BLOOMINGTON -- Indiana University officials said engineers believe Assembly Hall will be able to host the men's basketball team's next home game, March 2 against Ohio State.IU athletic director Fred Glass said the Iowa game that was postponed Tuesday is still being discussed but will likely be in Assembly Hall. No date has been set. Glass said he anticipates the building will be ready far in advance of the Ohio State game...

If Barta bends over and agrees to that game on the 27th I won't be real happy.

You do realize that if the B1G makes the decision Iowa is playing on the 27th right? Unless they figure something out to play tomorrow, which means they better be boarding a plane now, there is no other date that would work for both teams.

Given the circumstances that are already in place, in your mind, what would constitute not bending over?

You do realize that if the B1G makes the decision Iowa is playing on the 27th right? Unless they figure something out to play tomorrow, which means they better be boarding a plane now, there is no other date that would work for both teams.

Pretty sure he means that symbolically. It's one thing to be ordered to play on the 27th. It's completely different to settle for that before the higher-ups make the call.

And I agree with him. Don't agree to play on the 27th unless the conference orders us to. Besides, playing between the Illinois game and the BTT isn't unreasonable, either.

This is not true.

Is there something wrong with playing it after the Illinois game?

The conference will want their seedlings done by Sunday night. Really no advantage for Iowa, they would be playing 3 games in 5 days in that scenario.
