Making 4/5 field goals is not easy for any kicker, let alone a true freshman without much kicking experience. Big clutch 42 yarder!

They really, really, really need to work on those extreme angle field goals. Or just go for it.
Then let's see you get out there and do better fella. I saw a kick to the 4 yard line today, a 42 yard FG with plenty of leg. Sorry your not impressed but unless your Adam Vinatari (SP) you should keep your mouth shut.No one is concerned that he can't kick the ball any farther than the 15 yd line even with the wind? Given how bad our coverage team is, this is just more pressure on them. Then you put more pressure on a defense that has been decimated by injuries by allowing the other team start near mid-field. Sorry, but I'm not impressed.

I noticed that this week, early on in the season he was putting them in the endzone, now he can't get them deeper than the 15 or so. Maybe he is getting a little worn out. IDK. Otherwise kicking pretty well still worried every time he kicks but getting better.
Also hes getting alot more tackle than he probably should but good that hes been able to make those plays.
Over all playing better, and pretty darn good for a true freshman.
d-bag and I'm the 2nd grader? Step away from the computer and look in the mirror pal. The thing is that your out there on the internet downing a 18 year old kid that kicks a ball and he has no way to defend himself for making 3-4 FG. Just what did he do to you to make you feel like such a small man that you have voice your opinion about him? it's tools like you that make me chuckle all day long because you have not the 1st clue about the game of football let alone how to kick a ball and make it go where you want it to go but your a big enough man to call a 18 year old out about winning a game for my Hawkeyes. Without his points the game is lost isn't it? KF might as well ditch the kicking game, screw taking three points. FOOL!Wow, tough guy! Did I ever claim to be a division I kicker? I don't think so. I guess we're not allowed to voice our opinions w/o you reducing yourself to a 2nd grade tirade! D-bag.

A big boy conversation will not happen between you and I because you aviod the big boy questions. Let's leave it at that and that you have no clue how hard it is to do Meyer's job and you think you could do better but mommy wouldn't let you go out for football because she didn't want her little girl to get gurt. Keep calling out 18 year old kids that did their job just fine, on a team that won a game because he kicked the ball damn well. Go look around college football clown and see for yourself there isn't such a thing as a perfect kicker let alone any kickers that are true freshmen at the D1 level. If you have any kids at home and they are boys you better get to coaching them up on how to be perfect kickers so they can solidify Iowa's kicking game but also teach them that there will always be some punk on the internet who thinks that he could have done a better job and will call him out. PUNK!I love the irony in your post. It'a message board. Is that not what everyone is doing here? Voicing opinions? Oh, that's right. Only you can, b/c I, and "tools" like me, "have not the 1st clue about the game of football" and your Hawkeyes. Did I say anything about ditching the kicking game, Clown? Are you even capable of having a big boy conversation or do you need a timeout?

Sheagle, the fact that they were letting Meyer keep kicking off like that makes me think that either Mossbrucker and Murray must be really bad, or that it was done on purpose.
As I said in another thread, when he was kicking them into the endzone, they would land right near the goal line, allowing for a return. ON TOP OF THAT, our coverage wasn't able to get down the field in time to prevent returns. Perhaps, the goal of kicking it short is to compensate for that? I honestly don't know. If it wasn't planned, then it's a problem. If that was the goal, it makes some what more sense.
I think Meyer leads special teams in tackles.
the kid should feel good about himself.
