George Kittle's First NFL TD

He had a huge 4th q. They seemed to be running a handful of plays for him and he took full advantage. He would have had a 2nd TD catch earlier in the game if Hoyer had thrown a better ball on it. Wish the 9ers had a better Oline and would let CJ get in there.

I was thinking about that other td too, but then I realized if he caught that one, they would have kicked the game tying field goal at the end so he wouldn't have gotten the other one.

Very true. I doubt they'd have had the confidence to go for the win like the Packers do with Rodgers.

I pretty much have stopped watching the NFL unless there's a Hawkeye connection. I did watch some of Dallas-Green Bay yesterday. Mostly I find the league boring. Then again, I'm a Jets fan.

Watching the Redzone is the only way to go. Watching a game with all the commercials and stop/starting doesn't do it for me anymore.

Almost forgot what a skinny kid he was when he first got to Iowa.. He's just the most recent example of what Doyle can help a kid get to physically.
Side note/left turn from Kittle is Snyder. What a physical specimen he is. Saw a bit of his press conference and he looks like he doesn't need pads when he plays geez. How can he not be the feel good story of the group. Senior year he wasn't going to try for a medical RS (I don't know if he'd have even been eligible for one or not) he wanted to get back for his team ASAP and I'll be shocked if that isn't the fastest return to the field from an ACL tear there's ever been at this level or NFL. Strait up medical marvel and a great guy.

I do the redzone as well. Zero commercials and you get all the action and big plays live or near-live. Its great.

Football in general is wearing me out with all the penalties. Every huge play I just expect a flag.

Also the injuries are getting insane. The Giants lost FOUR receivers yesterday. Seems like at least 5 players go down with injuries each game. Anymore the NFL just boils down to which team had the fewest guys break bones or tear ligaments in their bodies.

IMO its getting harder and harder to actively cheer on other human beings destroying their bodies for my entertainment. Yes, I realize some of them get paid really well and they all choose to do it. I'm still not sure that makes it ok. That being said I still watch.

I have no problem with it. Injuries are just the nature of the sport. That said it is weird that so so many guys are getting hurt now though. MMA guys seem to be less hurt at the end of their fights. Those guys know full well what they are risking every time they suit up and they'd do it for less money then they get if they had to. But look at Ben Rothlisburger he's mentally checked out. He was talking about retiring this last off season and now he's playing like a guy that's one foot out the door. He's just playing for the big money he's getting that's it. He'll have to really turn it around to convince me he's not checked out mentally and I'll be even more surprised if he comes back next yr

Players today are just way faster and stronger than they used to be, so its leading to more injuries. I remember about 15 years ago John Madden was making a huge deal about the Cowboys having all 5 offensive lineman over 300 pounds. It was a legit big deal back then which is crazy to think about today.

Bigger guys running faster equals more violent collisions.

I don't know if there's anything in the works now, but I would hope within a few years we'll have a rc robot football league.

Humanoid-shaped bots playing regulation football, with some "bots are expendable so let's ramp up the violence" additions. Once per quarter you can use a sword / bomb bot, etc.

No health / safety concerns, no off-the-field drama.

Snyder is a Jr, which to me makes his recovery even more impressive, considering he did have the option to take a season off. If he keeps playing like he has and improves even further, the secondary next year could be pretty damn good.
