Michigan and OSU should never be split up. That makes about as much sense as Texas and OU being in different divisions.

It really has nothing to do with them playing each other every year, but everything to do with those two school having a potential stranglehold on a potential Big 10 championship game.

Historically, the conference championship goes through columbus and Ann Arbor anyway... how many teams have lost to both in one year and still won or tied for the conference? What about lost to either and won the conference?

The idea that we can't split up UM and OSU because it wouldn't allow for anyone else to get into the conference championship game says nothing to me except that the rest of the conference evidently has to get a lot better.

If this was the divisions and OSU and Mich. kept there game as there rival game from the other division it could possibly set up back to back games against each other if both won there divisions sice they historically have faced each other in the last game of the season

If I was a Penn St. fan I would be PO if say NW came to the south and I got stuck with OSU and Michigan.

IMO it would look like this.

Ohio State
Michigan
Indiana
Purdue
Michigan State
Rutgers/Notre Dame ( If not Rutgers or Notre Dame) it will be Northwestern

Iowa
Penn State
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois
Mizzu/Nebraska If Notre Dame/Rutgers join- It will be Northwestern to round out the 6th team

Not that this has anything to do with the split (or the thread), but it is funny that Purdue beat both Ohio State and Michigan this year and didn't even go to a bowl game. I bet they didn't think that was possible.

Not your father's Big Ten, anymore. Michigan is just another team. I say east and west, though. It just depends on who we add. Mizzou or Rutgers.
