With the amount of depth we have and the amount of overall length we have and the fact that we have 2 really good shot blockers on the team (Olesani and Basabe), I've often wondered why we haven't gone to more full court pressing, half court trapping, etc. Not to the point that Mr. Davis did where we still ran it no matter what the opponent was doing to us, but as something else that the opponent has to gameplan for. We usually only do it to control the other team's tempo, but rarely do it to try and get steals or really disrupt the other team's rhythm or momentum.
Just an observation and something I've thought we should be doing more of with the type of team we have. You could run a 1-2-1-1 full court press with White or Uthoff on the ball out of bounds, Marble and Gessel on the opponents side of half court for steals and harassment of the dribbler coming up the court, someone at the midcourt line to discourage baseball passes from out-of-bounds to half court and then Basabe or Olesani at the back to block shots if the opponent made it thru.
Just a thought.
