This brought a tear to my eye:

"Hopefully the fans will remember me as a guy who loved Iowa, whose dream it was to play here, a guy that remained loyal to the fan base through good times and the bad," Gatens said. "But hopefully, they'll remember me as someone who went out on a higher note. Hopefully they can remember me a winner, too."

I want that for him sooo bad. Truly deserved

and this is a kid that endured more than he should have. he deserved the support of fans that turned their back on him and other hawk players for petty reasons, the most petty is i don't like this or that, like a guys hair or his attitude
