Its sickening to watch Kobe play his *** off and have it not even be close to enough. The Lakers big men are playing so soft and are getting worked by the Celts. Pau Gasol is very skilled but he plays like hes french

Thats not right. He cant beat the Celtics by himself. They won it all last year because Boston was not healthy with Garnett out for the playoffs. The Celtics starting 5 is undefeated in playoff series.

The way he took over in the 3rd quarter was a great show but I do not think its good for a team for 1 player to score 19 straight points. They become too reliant on that player and the other players on the floor do not keep a rhythm to stay effective.

This Lakers team can beat anyone in the NBA except the Celtics when they are healthy.

Kobe won a title last year. I may be mistaken but I am pretty sure the Lakers have pretty much the same team as last year.

I'm pretty sure you reiterated what I just said and literally made no point. Kobe can't beat the Celtics by himself, he needs a more solid foundation of players around him that don't suck. I don't know what you're getting at.

My original point was he cant do it all against this Celtics team. You made it sound like he has never won anything with this group of players before, when he just won an NBA title last year with pretty much the same team.

Yes he did win it last year, but when the other Lakers players have off nights (which is becoming more frequent it seems) Kobe just can't win the game by himself.

It is all his teammates fault. Kobe should have involved them in the 2nd half.


My question is why cant Kobe beat the Celtics? He has enough around him to win it all last year and now he is forced to win 2 games in a row to take the title this year.

I wont be shocked if the Lakers pull it off and win 2 in a row to take the title but I want to know why the Lakers cant get the upper hand on this Celtics team that is old and past their prime.

It's pretty evident to me why they can't. Other than Kobe, the Lakers only real threat to take over a game is Gasol, and even he has had some games where he hasn't done jack. On the other hand, if Garnett is having a bad night, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, or even Glen Davis can provide the team play to beat the Lakers. The triangle lately seems like Kobe or Fisher dribbling around a ton and throwing up a tough shot, which they can make, but not consistently enough when they're playing a team with that kind of depth.

So is it because Kobe needs more talent around him or the Celtics are just the better team? Because earlier you said Kobe cant do it by himself. Are you saying he didn't have to do it by himself last year because they didnt run into the Celtics or because he had a better supporting cast around him?

I'm saying that Kobe can't do it by himself when the other players suck it up. The Lakers have a great chance of beating the Celtics when the whole team plays well as a team, though.
