He actually does get back to you rather quickly for as busy as his schedule probably is. He does an excellent job of fan relations... (well i can think of a few things that are not great fan relations, but I really do think he is a decent guy and it is not all on him)

I am sure it is simply predictable for him but he is CEO of the athletic department which relies heavily on alumni involvement and donations... I am sure it is tiring for him and saying things like Lickliter sucks will not get you very far... but if you are meaningful and cordial in your email, he'll respond in kind.

I emailed Barta last year when we were all in an uproar over the Big Ten Network streaming, etc. and lack of coverage on t.v. I was sure to state my opinion but was polite about it, and I got a good email back from Gary the next day, which didn't really feel like a generic form letter, but something he actually took the time to write directly in response to my comments. So it seems that he does try to respond to the fans who contact him.
I'm sure Barta isn't going to enjoy reading through his inbox this year though..

I emailed him a very carefully worded forward of a sweet joke involving a Rabbi, Priest and a bottle of KY jelly. No response...and the email specifically stated that if not forwarded to at least 10 other people it would bring bad luck to the person who does not forward...it even gave a statistic that 97% of people won't forward this...which usually works. Did anyone receive that forward from GB?
