I thought Garmon was definitely headed south but didn't realize they were recruiting him as a DB.....this really helps Iowa....re-tweet from Marc......

Marc Moorehouse re-tweet earlier today: "Update on 4-Star RB Greg Garmon: He is down to Iowa and Miami. UM is his dream school. He would play DB at UM and RB at Iowa. Feeling UM."

Original tweet was from a UM blog.

keep on dreamin, kf only gets 3 star players remember. only 4 stars are like OL and TEs most of the time. Coe was a 4 and look where hes at.

FWIW, Iowa has signed a 4-star running back in each of the past three recruiting classes. Garmon would make it 4 years in a row for the Hawkeyes.

Ah, so four star recruits don't count if they are offensive linemen or tight ends? Didn't know that....guess we should stop trying then. Let's just only recruit MAC type players, it seems to have worked well for Minnesota and Indiana

how bout a 4 star qb thatd be nice for our team. and what 4 star RB that we got is still around? Coker, and who? its seems we always lose our big time recruits, and it sucks. thats why im not opptimistic about recruiting, ever.

I sure hope UM isn't his "dream school". Isn't he set to announce Jan 3rd? I wonder if he plays the hat game, if so enjoy South Beach.

Right, well, Jake Christensen was a 4 star QB who was beat out by Stanzi. JC ended up playing I-AA and Stanzi is in the NFL.

most of the talk around on Garmon, is that he wants to be a running back

Which is probably why he hasn't committed to Miami already. It will be tough for him to turn down his "dream school," no matter where they want to play him, though.

You know Minnesota has beaten us two years in a row, right?

Well, with McCall gone and Coker's status up in the air Iowa should be looking better and better. Has a chance to fight for the #2 spot and possibly the #1 spot...
