Id say its 100% a must win if you have any ideas of salvaging the season. Losing to Penn State and then going on the road to Indiana and Ames would probably cause the few remaining tires to fall off the wagon.

Seems like the home team usually wins in this series, so guess just be lucky it's in Carver this time. PSU didn't play very well there last year on senior day.

It makes sense to me. We dug ourselves a deep hole in non conference so we need a really good conference record. It's going to be pretty tough to end up with a good conference record if we lose at home to Penn State to start off.

Iowa started last season at 3-5 and ended up a win away from the NCAA Tournament, Granted, the non-con schedule was tough last year but there still was a loss to Omaha in there. It's early. That's why they play the games.
