Admittedly still way too many turnovers and missed execution but man has it been a whole lot more enjoyable to shoot photos over the first few games.
I am looking forward to seeing how they progress throughout the season as the flow of the game starts to become more instinct and less thought.
It was also great to once again see many of the new players putting in quality minutes.

Thanks. Really appreciate the photos. But, geez, those yellow uniforms are UGLY. The side looks like some traffic warning sign - like, divided highway ahead.

Was that using the f2.8 or f4.3 lens?

Nearly all of my stuff at Carver is shot at f2.8 to help keep my ISO down as much as possible due to the fact I don't have strobe flashes in the ceiling like most of the others. Of course that still means an ISO range of 800-1600 to keep a decent shutter speed of 250-500. It also depends on outside lighting such as the neon sign by scorers table or whether it's an afternoon vs evening tip-off as it can make a big difference in the metered light.

I have gotten some decent stuff using apertures as high as f8 but that required slowing down the shutter, over-exposing my camera or in some cases intentionally underexposing everything in camera and then correcting later via photoshop so it can be done but for me the f2.8 lens seemed like a better investment as I also use it for high school senior and family portraits, weddings, etc.

Getting a 70-200 f2.8 made a huge improvement in our picture taking. Some of the middle school gyms down here are not very well lit for picture taking. With the 4.3-5.6 it was impossible to get any sort of good action shot. With the 2.8 set to manual mode I can usually get some decent shots in even the dimmest of gyms. I do have to set the ISO to 1600 and may have to drop the shutter speed down to 160 or so in order to get decent exposure. Fortunately these days we have good photo editing programs to lighten up some under exposure.
