Frost Fired!

I didn't read any details, but did he offer any accountability at all? Any humility or self-deprecation? If not, I wonder how much reflection and growth have occurred.

No. I don't think he has it in him. Here's the thread with comments. Pretty funny comments from others.

Here's a thread from Nebby's 247 site. Not sure if it's premium or not. Pretty good stuff.

This will always remind me of Stewart Mendal made a list of his top coaches in the B1G and he had Frost like 5 spots ahead of Kirk after losing his first 2 games to IA. I was like, Stu, buddy, this a bit of a stretch for a guy that can't hold KF jock...and Stewart made a bet with me on Twitter for that years IA vs NU game and said Frost wouldn't lose to KF again. If he won, I had to buy a subscription to the Athletic. If I won, he had to buy my bands album on iTunes.

Stewart likes country rock, he sent me a couple of nice messages about how much he liked the album.

He wasn't ready for that job at Nebraska. He sort of knew it. People screamed that he should have taken the N job bfore going to Florida. But H and Osbornew knew he wasnt' ready for it. The two years at UCF wasnt enough. for him

He milked Nebbie for Millions. Doesn't give a damn what anybody thinks, he's set for life.
yeah, and IMO, he should shoulder most of that blame. He was given everything to succeed and likely more resources than most. Everyone was pulling for him and swimming in the same direction. He was handed that job on a platter and completely face planted by his own doing.

What an absolute chode. The guy has no loyalty to anyone but himself and will throw anyone and everyone under the bus in a heart beat. I guess blaming everyone else though is much easier then admitting publicly that he was offered his dream job by a delusional program/fanbase that absolutely moronic idea that he was even remotely qualified for the job in the first place. Then again they were perfect for each other.

This tickles me so much. Good for Stewart ponying up. That was a wild ass take to have at the time and only looks worse now.

Yup. Now he's living in central FL getting paid millions to coach with little to no expectations. Some dudes can just absolutely suck at their jobs and being a decent person and still win the game of life. He's one of em.

Coaching is like politics...once you're "in the club" you're set no matter what.

At the risk of defending Frost, he has been wildly successful at his other coaching gigs. Nebbie hiring him was viewed as a homerun at the time. It clearly did not work out, and most of that is on Frost, but not all of it. Nebbie's athletic department has been a mess for a long time before Frost ever got there. Nebbie has not taken the transition to the Big 10 seriously, or demonstrated a real desire to compete for titles in the modern age given who they have hired at AD and HC. There has been a clear leadership void at the top for a couple decades now. If they had a strong president and strong AD they could have provided Frost with the resources he needed to be successful and get out of his own way.

He will do better at a smaller school with less media scrutiny and lower expectations. In fact, from a lot of local reporting in Omaha, it sounds like he really did not want to take the Nebbie job to begin with, but was talked into out of a sense of obligation. The money probably helped.

I hope he wins again at whatever school he returned to. It will further salt the wound of the Bugeaters. And, I want to personally thank Frost for shitting the bed at his alma mater. Good man, Scott!!!
