From everywhere, Dickerson arrives in Iowa

Okay, from the brief clip, I saw:

TD: can get to the rim (careful to not discount the lack of defense played) and could have a good pull up "j". If this is reality, I see MG and te 2 more than at point, but he'll play both. Please SAPP, redshirt this season so we have you and TD after MG graduates.
White: Thought I saw him take and make a 3pntr from the corner. Good sign. Please, Aaron, take the 15 footer, you'll be unstoppable.
JU: Looked aggressive going to the rack. That is exactly what we need from him.

TD sure doesn't look very big but he looks quick. Hard to tell a ton from that short clip but if he can handle the ball make good decisions on the fast break and off the pick and rolls he should help a ton. If he can score 8-12 a game to help alleviate losing Marble along with JU JO and Jok all improving I see a year better then last year.

From Aaron White: "“That ball is never stuck in his hands, which I love. That’s really going to help my game."

I think Whitey said A LOT right there..both backwards looking as well as to the future.

I agree. I thought the same thing when reading it.

Yep, I hope he plays that way so it can be written in stone or MARBLE. He did hold the ball a lot and dribble a lot and as a player your not going to hustle your a$$ off and run motion so someone can hold the ball and dribble it out at the front of the key. After a while you get tired of that and just say the heck with this and stand and watch the ball holder. If one wants to make a case that the new guard is not going to dicker around and hold the ball it could lead to a balanced team concept. In fairness however a lot of the point guards have a tendency to do that. I will give credit to BJ Armstrong who was very good at moving and distributing the ball. Would love to see that out of this kid. Ronnie Lester was also good at this and getting the ball to the open guy and also at knowing when to be the go to guy. Could I order one Ronnie and one BJ to go please, especially on the road in the big ten. :)

Tell ya what I take from the quote... Perhaps AW is a lil slow to look at himself when it comes to ball movement. Maybe the ball would have moved more if he could hit a jump shot.

To be honest.... White is a fan favorite because he runs the floor well and is explosive in the fact he can rise so quickly, but I think his limitations in the half court hurt this team more than Marble's ever did. I think people may realize that White was the problem... Not Marble when it's all said and done.

The ball stopped moving just as much if not more when it hit White's hands as it did Marble's.

this exactly

I re-watched the MSU loss at Carver this morning on BTN ....ouch.

It was a game that Iowa went the last 15 minutes of regulation and OT without a single fg.
MSU stopped our running game cold, and the Hawks could only score by going to the line, where they missed 13 free throws.

What I saw on offense was some decent ball movement, around the perimeter, but they could not make a shot, and when they did catch the ball cutting to the bucket , they got fouled.

Devyn made some nice passes to Zach, Mel and Gabe, but they could not finish at the hoop...MSU guys blocked their shots from behind....to slow on the uptake.

I was envisioning that team without Devyn, vs the MSU team which was missing Dawson and Payne already, and I see problems.

But, maybe we will shoot free throws much better( Mikey G missed one in the last 30 seconds that would have won the game in regulation) , and shoot the jumpers better....if we can get open ones.

I think this team will have to fight for the #8 seed in the league, and to get on the bubble.

I don't see hardly anyone that can create his own shot this year.Yeah some will argue whitey, utoff, mg maybe, but I don't see it consistently. For them to be good this year they will have to rely on being a very good team versus anyone individually. They will have to pass really well, and everyone will have to 1) get better and 2) all must contribute. Will it happen? I'm skeptimucal

Then why would he be selected to the NCAA college "all star team" that competed internationally? His stats were pretty good in those games too BTW

Iowa will be a lot better this coming year.

But it won't be "that team" without Marble.

Why not envision the team that played Tennessee where Peter Jok and Woodbury were the two best players for iowa?

There will be allot of things that are different from last years team.
