French press conference next week

I dunno ... he seemed to be feeling "it" the most when it came to ND. Of course, Oregon is currently a "fashionable" choice ... however, consistency has consistently been an issue for the Ducks.

excellent play on words there. I may be the only one, but will not be overly disappointed if French goes else where. He just isn't one of the recruits that I look at and say, "man if we can get him"

French just doesn't get that reaction out of me. It's more like "if we get him great, maybe he'll be a contributor in 3 or 4 years but if not, eh"

Put yourself in a 18 year olds head. You are being recruited by the current #1 team in the country. They are flashy and fun and they are "backed" by Nike. What would you choose? He is going to be a Duck.

Agree. Another CR product has a press conference to tell us all they are leaving the state. We should be like the old East Germany and wall in Cedar Rapids. That would slow them down!;)

Can't kill a 17 or 18 year old kid for being 17 or 18, but having a press conference to announce just doesn't seem to be a thing a future Hawk does. Hopefully he at least won't play the three hat shuffle.

I love french press coffee. They have a conference for that? Sign me up.

Didnt Derby have something like this last year?

...and Kennan Davis 2 years ago. Press conference means nothing about his choice here. High Schools push good pub, so when you have a student athlete getting national attention you make sure to invite the press. Especially if you are a high school in Cedar Rapids not named Washington, the local paper here loves them the Washington Warriors and all other schools have to push to get their piece.

Hawkfarmer, you pretty much sum up my attitude as well.

Kennedy likes to put on a show to allow their athletes that are going on to college to play ball to have their time in the light. They will put on a "signing" party in the library to allow the kids to "announce" where they are going. Just last week, they had a party for four other athletes (baseball, volleyball, girl's BBall, and boys golf). Not surprised that are giving Christian his time also.

They are more consistent than Iowa since Kirk came to town. Just sayin . . .
