Fred Hoiberg says the Hawks are as good as any team he has played so far.....

I think ISU winning it gave them the extra confident boost for their season. IA can get one back with today's win. Go Hawks!

Classy of Fred. My daughter, Kate, met him at the Marriott Residence Inn at Jordan Creek. She is front desk and office manager, and she said he was polite and nice although all business.....

I am one of those who hope Iowa State does well throughout the season when not playing the Hawks. It is good to have two top quality teams in the state.....

I also pull for Clones when not playing Hawks.

I'd hope he'd feel that way after being beat on your home court for 38 minutes.

Of course only one score matters the final so it doesn't matter but from the Cyclone fans I've talked with say they felt like they didn't play well against us but felt lucky to get the win with how the game played out.

I have heard the same thing from sensible ISU fans. They say we played them better than any team. We had them. That is what makes it so painful.....

Exactly, Iowa was probably the closest anyone has come to beating them this year (except maybe UNI) and we played them at their house. Cool of Fred to acknowledge as much...and I agree with him. :)

Hoiberg has never been anti Iowa...even back when he played at Iowa State. That's why I have always been a fan of his. I pull for Iowa State when I like their coach and players and avoid contact with their fans. If I have an issue with any of these 3 then I want them to lose. I'm cheering for them this year...and I do think they have a very good team.

I find myself struggling some with the fan base at times but also realize Iowa also has their share of nut jobs. Just not as high of a percentage.
