He has had a lot of time to collect his thoughts, I doubt he says anything about the officiating.
 
He needs to claim this loss and apologize to his team. To fight your *** off and lose because your coach is a baby really sucks. I love Fran but this is the first time he's upset me as a fan.

If you hand a team 4 points for no other reason than you're mad (at calls that weren't really THAT bad) you get to be called a baby.
 
I do believe we were getting homered more than a bit prior to Fran's meltdown, and that the officiating was more even after it. That said, I do not believe the end justifies the means here. I love Fran and I think I kidded myself into thinking his prior rants were still calculated and not out of control emotion. This was out of control emotion and that is a problem.

tough loss, and man does every wisconsin player whine after every foul call against them?

Fran cost us this game. Period. We were up 41-39 when he got the two Ts.

Really stupid.

If the coach can't keep his poise, the team probably won't either.

This coach has a lot of soul-searching to do

I do want to know though, why college refs and specifically Big Ten refs Don't reward a player who beats his man and gets hit with free throws in the name of "letting them play" Call this game like an NBA game and reward beating the defender and we probably win. I just hate the way college hoops is officiated and the new rule emphasis seem to be gone.
 
he didn't seem to apologetic... I think its a little bit of the idea that we don't get treated the same when we play the big boys.

put us against the also rans we do but against MSU, OSU, Wisconsin ect and its a diff story.

I think Fran does feel this way and I think its accurate to do so.

Izzo, Ryan and Mada get more calls their way than an anonymous coach otherwise would especially at home.

Those guys all work the refs in a professional manner. Sure they whine and cry, and yell some. What they don't do is have a complete and total meltdown. Even when he is just yelling, it looks like he has lost his ever loving mind. We would rip him for his antics if he was coaching at a rival school, and rightfully so.....
 
Just watched Fran's post game this morning for the first time and it's quite odd. He obviously has had some time to cool down so he's not fuming but he's also seems like his mind is in a different place.

Maybe he's just frustrated that he can't say what he wants to in fear of a fine???
 
Even IF the officials are biased, you cannot comment on them. It is against the rules. Period! He has to swallow his thoughts or be fined/suspended.
