FRAN & SIENNA BEAT OHIO STATE

Last year in the NCAA tourney and they beat Vanderbilt the year before. They also gave Purdue a great game in the first round this year. Fran should be able to bring in even better talent to Iowa than he had at Sienna as we have the Big Ten network and a new practice facility on the way.

There is reason for hope and optimism. He just needs to put together a great staff and recruit, recruit, recruit. This includes making sure we keep all the kids signed for next year of our top 30 class and keeping May, Gatens, Payne, Fuller, etc.

If Fran can keep the roster in tact and bring in a great recruiting staff, Hawkeye basketball may in deed be relevant again in the next two to three years. I'm on board. Go Hawks!

It was an 8/9 game, down year for OSU you could say. Not like it was UNI beating Kansas material. Don't get too excited.

I would not use that as a complete indicator. Top seeds don't always get wired to play 13-14 seeds. They were handled by UNI and others this year.

He may well be an XO guy, maybe lick was too. He better be able to get players here and get fans in the seats. If he brings an east coast attitude here, and can't back it up, he will join lick quickly, probably Barta too.

Same way Butler beat this team and that team and gave Florida the toughest game. Blah blah blah.

Some of you would be able to fill in for Barta in a heartbeat. But that's not sayin much.

You beat me to it, but I was just going to mention that we've heard this all before. A couple games doesn't mean a whole lot. Body of work means so much more.

In watching this year's NCAA Tournament, I see so many games where a higher-seeded team struggles against a lower seed. Happens ALL the time.
