Fran on 1700 am

Heard it in full on my run, very nice interview and went on a long time. His quote, "we are pleased but not satisfied with the progress of the program." Talks about the loss of Gatens but says they will be better next season with everyone coming in. Said Woddy and Mike have a strong shot to start off the bat and there is no easing into anything they will expect to contribute big time right off the bat so taht when B10 season kicks in they will be seasoned already and not just finding their way. Loves how much depth Iowa will have. And specifically called out the defense and that it needs to improve vastly. It was a good interview and enjoyed listening...

Great re-cap...heard the interview as well and you covered it well, 81!

Thank you for the info. Love McCaffery as our coach. You can tell he loves promoting our program and does so with real emotions. Honesty reminds me a little of Brands.

Fran really pumped up Wisky WTH. He said he expects them to beat the Orange tonight and had a lot of nice things to say about Taylor.

Surprised when he said they would have played in the CBI had they not made the NIT. Barta would've come around.

Have to agree.

Interesting comments. Glad to read that he is projecting Gessell and Woodbury as starters. Not mentioned in this interview, but also pleased that he has mentioned Olaseni playing more of a role next season. Any updates on Olaseni playing on the 19U national UK team? I would think that would really help him, but I guess only if he plays. If not, I would almost rather see him go to a big man camp and come back to the PTL to go up against UNI guys, Woodbury, etc.

Hey, 1hawkeye1, I want to comment about you signature... Shouldn't the man in your avatar be doing a commercial for tres aquis (XXX) and not dos aquis (XX) beer with your accompanying signature: His sexual advances are never unwanted. Never: The Most Interesting Man In The World?

Point taken.
