Thats a strange way of putting it. Did he actually use the word indefinitely? Usually they will say they are out for the season or something of that nature. Indefinately could mean a couple of months or a couple of seasons.

Certainly sounds like a possibility. Some knee injuries are given best case / worst case scenarios for recuperation time.
