Four-Star Utah S Chaz Ah You Holds Hawkeyes in High Regard

Well, there ya have it.

"Chaz’s father, Jasen Ah You, accepted a position as BYU’s Director of Football Athletic Relations in March."

He could very well end up staying home.

We didn't start recruiting him until after his father got the BYU gig. I would think LeVar has asked about the family dynamic.

Ben Niemann came here with his dad was at NIU. His brother, Nick Niemann, stayed committed to us even though their dad was named defensive coordinator at Rutgers this offseason.

BYU definitely has an inside track with dad and being home school. But I don't think it's a layup.

It depend son so many things. 2 years from now is a long, long time. If he is very good it could be an interesting dynamic. Iowa or BYU could be way up or down by then.

I hadn't realized before, but he will go on his mission before going to school. So that is 2 years away from football.

I don't really get it, even if you win the recruiting battle now, he doesn't come to school, and you will have to re recruit him in 2 years? Unless we just sign lets say him as basically an "extra" player, IE bring in 21 player instead of 20?

Say what you will about Mormon missions but I'd say if he commits to a two year mission somewhere in the world then he'll likely keep his commitment to whichever school he commits to.

I say, just stay with him. He is a big talent and a lot can happen yet. Eppy Jr. may still 'get to him'.........
