Honest question: Is Fran allowed to pay for one of his player's tuition, even if that is his own son? Does the NCAA have any rules against something like that?
Moss will start this season. He will not transfer.I think there's at least one or two transfers again after this year. There just aren't enough minutes to make everyone happy. I think the most likely candidates would be Ellingson or Moss.
Also have to wonder where the future minutes are coming for Kriener and/or pemsl. You have to assume your big men this year are uhl Wagner cook baer and Jones. All of those guys are back next year and now you have 2 new bigs coming in 2017 with Garza and nunge
It's kinda nice having a log jam because kids want to be Hawks. I could see Ellingson possibly leaving early… But if Dale Jones is going to stay then something has to give on top of Conner either walking on or getting academic scholly… Unless it’s already been talked about amongst the current Hawks how do the kids ‘on the edge’ for a lack of a better term take these two commits now? By Fran saying what he’s said that has to mean he’s willing/wanting someone currently on the team with eligibility remaining to take a hike right? Again my two dollar bet is on Ellingson with another dollar on it being Jones if I were to hedge it. Outside those two I see a future and solid roles for the others…
I think signing two more bigs virtually assures that Jones won't be back after this year. Also heard a rumor that pretty much fell in line with this, and totally make sense now as we just got commitments from 2 bigs.
Probably mutual I would think
He will probably get some baseball money as well. Won't be a full ride, but could be half.He can pay for his son to legally walk on and not have it count against the scholarship totals. He can't do that for other kids. There's a good chance Connor gets an academic scholarship as well.
We wrote about that last month:

Yep, I would think. I also don't think Dale will play much this year. I have said for a long time that expecting much of him, if anything at all even was a stretch. He is about 9 months removed from an ACL tear, and this is his 2nd one. I just don't see him being healthy enough to impact this season.
I get what you're saying but it's speculation on both sides right now. Me belief is that Dale's game was never really predicated on athleticism to begin with. I think at 6'9 with the longest wingspan on the team, and the ability to stretch the floor with his shooting, Dale will carve out some sort of a role on this team. It might be only 10-15 minutes a night but it's hard to keep guys who can shoot the ball like that off the court. Again, that's just my opinion/prediction.
Dale is 6'7 not 6'9
Moss will start this season. He will not transfer.
