Football Start Times

I like this too. Gives everyone 1 more hour of tailgating in the morning. I like 2:30 starts, but would be fine with 3:30 too. But the big thing is the Noon starts. Will be interesting to see if Delany can convince ESPN.

I'd love this. I mean I love being at Kinnick no matter what time it is, but I would definitely like to get an extra hour of sleep before I wake up to grill out in my dorm's parking lot.

I like it. Its all about the tv $$. Delaney knows he can get more advertising money for his BTN in the mid afternoon and more viewers if the Big Ten games are staggered from the other college games. He is probably making the same case to ESPN/ABC that staggering the start times closes the gaps between games and increases viewers at the beginning of games starting at 11ct and at the end of games that start at 12ct, much like the NCAA tournament did this year.

Its great for tailgating. From what I know about Iowa fans, I doubt many use this extra hour to sleep!

How is this for a suggestion? Go back to the old days - before the networks called the shots - and start every game at 1 p.m.?

The writer brings up a good question, when was the last Iowa game that started at 1pm? I do recall that the Minnesota game in 2001 had no TV coverage and thus started at 1pm - is that the last one?

This would be great. Then the Big Ten can give back their $200M a year in television revenues, that'll show 'em.
