From observing, reading, etc this seems like a pretty tight team and maybe very tight. I think they also have some good leadership even though it is a fairly young team. Of course Hesse can easily be one of the top leaders on the defense and the team and he seems animated, vocal, and in to it when he plays. The Nelsons also and they show it on the field.

You sort of expect the QB to be an offensive team leader but I am not sure if Stanley is there yet even as a junior. Render maybe, Easley is a senior but a transfer who hasnt grown with all the players. Fant as an elder 3 year starter/player could step in as a leader.

Interesting. The whole team is circling the mental wagons around Stanley. I guess we'll find out if it works @ Purdue.

You find it odd that his teammates are not trashing him publicly?

Nate's teammates know if they have good Nate the last 4 games they have a great chance of running the table. Purdue's defense could be stingy but so is the hawks. I can see this game being 27-24 Iowa.

And it is incumbent on the coaches and players to watch the PSU tapes and do their film room, learn from it and correct some things, repeat what is working, but really focus on the next game.

That’s not intentionally what he said. When you circle the wagons you are not shooting in but they’re either not shooting out or not not shooting out. Not not shooting in would be pretty dumb on their part.

:D

From my view way down in SE Iowa, this team seems tight, and a great group of young men. They do have a chance to right the ship and move on to the Big Ten championship game, obviously would need a bit of help from the upcoming Wisky opponents, but definitely doable.

I know I'll be pulling hard for em. That last game really hurt as a fan, so I can imagine how they feel about it. With a group that tight, and with the talent on board players and coaches, I am confident that they are extremely active in making the needed adjustments for Purdue game and highly highly motivated to win this one.
