Flush the Ferentzs

Seems hard to believe a coach can lose so much goodwill in one season. That's Kirk's MO though, on years where he is predicted to win he stinks, then when all hope is gone, he has a team with no expectations play better than expected, so we believe they will play well next season. The problem with this is Kirk's teams are radically different from one year to the next. Then players don't progress as expected( At least on offense) and fans get bent out of shape. Kirk put all his eggs in Brian's basket. That's why kids, you don't hire family.

It's time to walk away.
Ferentz wouldn't have to walk away. He has to much money so he can go away in first class. I suppose his boy should be about a millionaire by now. Anyway, I can't blame ferentz for taking away from Iowa as much as he can. He really isn't worth a million and a half dollars a year or whatever he makes. I'm sure there are a lot better offensive coordinators out there too. Iowa does have a lot of talented players.

Ain’t gonna happen.

You think this is bad, you have 20+ more years of the Ferentz mafia running Iowa football. Buckle up.

I said this over the weekend. His style of stay the course, develop players, use the union card has a bad look with four and five star players and when the team is struggling. Once they get into these ruts of finding a way to do just enough to lose, they usually don't come out of them until the team hits rock bottom.

Illinois is on the docket. If they can't get their running game going against that bunch then hope is indeed lost.

Well I have a new theory that KF doesn't care about wins and losses, he cares about how many guys he sends to the NFL. Yeah he has done that, but truly who gives a frog's Fat @$$? He's paid to win games at the U of I and play your best players who will give you and your team and those dudes who committed to this program the best opportunity to win a game!!! Period.... if Noah Fant gave Sir KF a piece of his mind... seriously who cares?? At least he is passionate about winning. I don't see any emotion from our leader.....

It would be helpful if KF would publicly state what his goals are each year, with some specificity, not just his usual trite statements about competing for a Big Ten championship, which every coach says he's doing. Also, if he's got individual plans for working on player (and coaching) development, that would be helpful and interesting to know as well.

I have no doubt that KF knows a lot about the college football game, but he regularly fails to educate and communicate that knowledge and understanding to the fans, especially those who have the temerity to question what he is doing. I know he understands the concept of accountability, after all isn't that the main reason for the little paper notebook he writes in each game? Well, if GB will not hold him accountable, many reporters and fans will step into that void themselves. And instead of just snorting and dismissing their thoughts out of hand, he would be much better served to engage the thoughtful questions and accurate remarks which come his way.

Like it or not, KF is accountable to the fans because they provide the bulk of the financial support for his program. But if he cannot be bothered with their attempts to hold him accountable, then it is time for him to move on to other things because both he and the fans of Iowa football will be happier knowing where the program is heading.

I want every single Ferentz grandchild to be a girl.

Or you may be looking at 40-50 more years of Ferentz mafia.:)

Not that it would stop them from being coaching candidates or anything like that.

I am 60 years old....it is depressing to think I may not see a head football coach at Iowa not named Ferentz for the rest of my life.

60 year old Hawkeye fans have only seen two head coaches of their team since they graduated high school. That’s insane.

And re: your post, you’ve got plenty better stuff to fret over than Kirk and Brian the Brain :)

You may see contact football go away yet in your lifetime, you never know!

I’m 38, and no male on my dad’s side going back two generations has made 60. I’m lucky, I only got 20 more years left of this shit show tops.

Oh, I don’t really fret over it. It is just a depressing thought. Then again, I also remember going to Hawkeye games in the ‘60s and ‘70s where they got their rear ends kicked on a regular basis.

I wouldn’t count on it! Going back to the Revolutionary War era no male on my dad’s side lived until age 65, until my dad and an uncle.
