Way too many problems yet to be fully resolved with the Iowa program to be cleared for high-end talent to feel comfortable coming here. I know the board is deeply divided about whether KF and staff should stay or go, but the way the HB report was released leaves enough questions unaddressed to be used easily against Iowa on the recruitment trail to be detrimental. The deliberate unacknowledgment of BF and SW in the report, whether negative or positive, cannot fix this now. Mere speculation is enough to be accepted as true, whether reality or not. Iowa did that to themselves trying to protect those guys. Ironically, these 2 guys had far less of a stamp on the program than Doyle did, even with BF playing for the program. Wonder why CD is expendable but the other 2 are potentially not.

1) Chris Doyle got paid hush money. He can’t spill the beans now. Money trumps everything in this world and KF bought his silence.

2) BF is The darling of the Ferentz family. Dad’s not going to fire him, and no matter what Gary Farta says, BF reports to him on paper only. Kirk is in charge of anything football related, not Farta.

3) Seth Wallace is a low level lieutenant in La Cosa Hawkstra. He’s not high enough on the food chain to get hush money to go away, and if he gets fired he’s going to sing like a bird and throw daddy ‘Rentz under the bus. They have to keep him.
