Has to be Northwestern! They have gone from winning West to a totally inept team. They just seem to have no talent especially offensively. Goes to show how fine a line there is with teams like Northwestern between success and crap!
Runnerup and everyone's sentimental favorite is Nebraska. They will need to beat us and Wisconsin to make any bowl. Frost is a good coach (i think) but turning around Nebraska is turning out to be a lot tougher than those crazy Nebraska fans (news flash) Nebraska is never going to be the Nebraska of old
I guess maybe Iowa fans should take note of how difficult it is to stay competitive. We have done a pretty good job of it in the Ferentz era
 
NW was incredibly lucky last year. They lost to Akron and Duke in the Non-Conf.

Nebraska has 3 games remaining so they don’t have to beat both UW and Iowa, just one and beat maryland.
 
Well Maryland is giving everyone a run for the money. They are getting ground up and spit out every week. In September they looked electric. Now just nothing...and OSU comes calling next week.
 
Gotta call Nebraska the flop of the Big 10, normally I respect DiNardo and crew, but they made a bad call on Nebraska. I love it, Nebraska sucks....again. I like Fitz and wish NW well, if I had a son that could play D1 football, I would want him playing for Ferentz, or Fitzgerald. I don't understand the Northwestern hate. Northwestern will be back, Nebraska never will.

After watching the end of the Nebby-Purdue game, I would have to disagree that Frost is a good coach.
Not having their best play-maker on the field with the game literally on the line? Pretty sure that's a coaching FAIL.
And did you see how they mis-managed the clock? Their hurry up and scramble on 4th & 3 looked like a bad Jr High team during the first game of their lives, all in a panic.
Safe bet lots of Nebby fans are thinking their AD got totally fooled in the interview.

You cant flop down when you have routinely been at the bottom for years.

I posted on here before the season that NW would or might probably have trouble this year because of weak QB play. They usually have good seasons with the good QB and are down without one.

But yes NW really underwhelmed this year, Nebby at 4-5 is under expectations, and I thought Purdue might have a couple more wins at this time but that game they lost late against Nevada was a bad loss after they had a big lead.

MSU is really struggling and there are player defections and a coach left the team and I read he was basically quoted he had to leave because he couldnt have his teenage or young daughter around that program, yikes.

He said he was told by the trainer that he was out. Not a coaching fail.

Clock management was extremely poor.

Typical windbag fans on their sites as are on this site. Identical meltdown using Husker instead of Hawkeye.
 
It’s a tie between Northwestern and Nebraska. Nebraska was to be the West Division Champs this year by many talking heads. Northwestern had a former 5 star QB coming in, but no one saw that he was going to be that big of a bust. After that, Michigan St., Maryland, and Purdue. I can excuse Purdue because of the excessive amount of injuries. Maryland started out like Tarzan and ended up more like Jane. But Michigan St.? They just have a bad culture going on over there now. They eating themselves up from the inside out. Dantonio will be gone after this season one way or another.
 
When compared to pre-season expectations it has to be Nebraska, especially the black skirts. That programs is in total meltdown.

yeah its interesting northwestern and Nebraska are really opposites of one another. nw has zero skill talent, especially at qb this year. but their wr's are hot garbage as well. Nebraska has a couple good skill guys, but their oline is brutal, and their lb core is bad. The big thing that led to expectations for nebby is that everybody thought after last year Adrian Martinez was the best returning qb in college football. he hasn't been right all year. there were guys from local radio talking about how he didnt' look right walking during the summer, and then when fall camp came out. everybody from Nebraska was like he's 100 percent. he's been a different player on many accounts this year. last year he didn't make very many poor decisions healthy or hurt, he just hasn't been the same guy and all their hopes rested on him.

Isn't Nebraska 4-5? I think they have to win 2 to get a bowl?

Say what? Do you realize that Fat Fitz and company absolutely despises the Hawks. Are you even a fan?

By wishing him well is kinda like inviting the dude that's bangin' your wife over for Sunday pot roast to talk about her favorite position.
 
What's the deal with being so literal about black shirts? As I understand the defense wore black shirts in practice and they became known as 'the blackshirts' it was a thing for the players on the D. Not for uniforms on game day.

Seems really cheap and cheesy and does not honor the players that came before. Like a 13 year old wearing his dad's suit
