Final thoughts on 2018/OutbackBowl

Hawks fought their hearts out today against a team that was physically bigger, stronger and faster....for the most part.

As dominant as the MSU defense was, it was the IOWA defensive line that was the most impactful during the game with 2 forced turnovers off of sacks.

Nate played one of his best games and he showed a lot of poise.

Without Noah Fant, Iowa's offense was much different and you might say that Iowa beat MSU with half of its offense tied behind its back.

I'm especially happy about the win when I learned about MSU's smack talk ...and the smack they were throwing around after plays

I guess they needed more cowbell

Had one or 2 things gone the other way Iowa could have lost and if Iowa lost we would be saying these things:
  • Pass defense is poor -they let defenders get behind them in the 2nd half
  • The O Line isn't as physical as it needs to be
  • The running game is poor
  • Recruiting isn't what it needs to be
  • Receivers are not at talented as they could be
  • Offensive scheme needs to evolve
