Final Scholarship

Are there any known offers out there For that final scholarship?? If anyone has a list that they could share, that would be great!

What would you do with the last scholarship? To me, Our most needed position is a PG who can score. But that player is already swiped up. Unless it is a transfer or a JUCO emerging late. A senior transfer would work great, provided they can play right away. Although, if they have the talent, sitting a year to play a year would work for me.... If we cant get a good PG, then we take the best player out there, if they are worthy. If not, I say we bank it.

From what has been posted in most threads lately, it seems like most would agree with you that this team needs a PG with the last scholarship. From what I have posted and few have agreed with me on is that this team needs a player that can defend the interior and guard opposing teams' 5 man. With White and Olaseni graduating, Woodbury will be the lone guy on the team that can defend the interior next season. Uthoff and Uhl are not strong enough to consistently handle post players we will see in the Big Ten. Not to mention after next season Woodbury will be gone and there will be nobody on the team with experience that can consistently defend inside. Throw in that it takes longer for bigs to develop and that there are already going to be 3 PGs on the team next season, getting a big is the biggest need in my opinion.

So while I understand why people want a PG, in my eyes it's more important to get a big that can help defend the interior and cushion the blow the team will take after losing Gabe and Woody back to back years if you look long term.

I would like to see Fran find a JUCO big that could come in and play the 4 and 5 spot to help add post depth next season. Then go for a good PG in the 2016 class when he can actually sell playing time with Gesell and Clemmons graduating. Get another big or two in the 2016 class and the team will be set up for nice depth the next few years with all the wings already coming in next season.

you are right, we do need a good big. Losing Gabe will be a huge hit. I do not think Uhl, Uthoff or Wagner will be enough. Something in the form of a true 4 sounds good to me. Better than the idea of a 5. A true 5 just doesnt seem to flow with what Fran wants to do with the offense.

A big man (5) or physical 4 is more important than a PG. The only caveat would be if the PG is a top 50 guy.

I completely agree we need a big. We need a 6'-10" 250 kid. JUCO would be more ready, but I'd take a highly regarded h.s. big, also.
