I agree that defense wins championships. However, for Iowa to win the BIG championship those offensive numbers will have to improve.

Problem with that is we don't have any Championships.

I love the 2009 season...but I have a passion to get better.

If I were the CEO of the Iowa Football program, everything must be evaluated in order to prepare for 2010. Looking at the offensive statistics, things must be changed or adjusted to improve that category. Numbers don't lie and an offensive rank in the bottom 20% simply would not cut it in my organization.

Lets see what changes Kirk deploys to improve the offense.

Jon, I am nitpicking a little.

Defense might win championships, but the only championship we won this year was the Orange Bowl Championship. We didn't win the Big Ten or the National Championship. But I know what you mean.

Maybe, but maybe not or not by much. I think someone posted the other day that in the last two seasons we have 6 losses by 22 points total. That is less than 4 points a game. If the defense in any given year can be a point better we only need another field goal and our usual hard nose preformances and we are right there.
