Final Big 10 West Division standings

Going out on a limb, doing some prognostication, making book, whatever but here is what I am calling over the last 4 weeks: The hawks are going to get it done. Wisky loses two more games which makes you wonder why you werent pulling for jNW to lose some more early Big 10 games. Whatever, the hawks are going to rise to the occasion the last 4 games.

Final West Division standings

Iowa 7-2, 10-2 overall they clean up the errors, well balanced offense and strong defense win out
jNW 6-3, 7-5 overall NDame, Iowa and I think Minny beat them
Purdue 6-3, 7-5 overall, Iowa needs to beat them and does, then PU wins out after that
Wisky 5-4, 7-5 overall Wisky is a little lost, PSU and Purdue take them down
Minny 3-6, 5-7 overall rowing is hard
Nebby 2-7, 2-10 overall Enuf said
Illini 1-8, 4-8 overall Pretty bad in the whole scheme of things

The only thing that's frustrating about it is that Wisconsin and Penn State were able to beat us without playing anywhere near at their best.

What if we play a hell of a game Saturday and Purdue plays the perfect game, or jNW does it following Saturday? How many times have we seen that happen to the basketball team over the years?

*if Wiscy loses 2 more they'll be 7-5 overall. lost to BYU non-con
 
Four way tie between Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Northwestern at 6-3. The winner upsets the Eastern Division champ. :p


No, I'm not sure that is even possible.

Iowa 6-3 (9-3)
Iowa loses to Purdue, beats NW

Purdue 6-3 (7-5)
Purdue beats Iowa, loses to Wisc

NW 6-3 (7-5 or 6-6)
NW loses to Iowa, gets upset by ILL

Wisc 6-3 (8-4)
Wisc beats Purdue, loses to PSU

For the tiebreaker,
In H2H, NW and Wisc would be 2-1, Iowa and Purdue would be 1-2. So Purdue and Iowa would drop out first. Then NW would win the tiebreaker over Wisc based on its victory over Wisc

So NW would go to the CCG with a 7-5 or 6-6 overall record!

This possibility was brought up three weeks ago.

A couple posters referred to a whole laundry list of tiebreaking scenarios.

It definitely looks more possible now, but someone is going to rise above this muck and I hope it's us starting this week.

If not, get ready to be big time Gopher fans. I believe they finish with Purdue, Northwestern, Wisconsin.

I wasn't even going to try to figure that all out.
 
Hawks STILL control their own path to Indy. That NEVER gives me confidence.

Hawks will get all the help they need from the others ...

Ho-Hum -- lots of $$$ for Ferentzes, the rich old rubes get to go to San Diego or Florida, us thinking fans are left shaking our heads at the inexcusable coulda and shoulda ...

Know what I find funny?
People are like OMG the season sucks, what could have been.
Those same people, OMG the Hawks suck. Nate sucks, our ol sucks, being ranked doesn't mean anything. The rose bowl is trash.

I don't understand the logic. Both things can not exist at the same time. If everything and everyone sucks, there isn't any what could have been.
I don't hear Nebraska fans saying what could have been. Oh what could have been if we had won 10 more games.
Which leads me to believe A. Y'all are on drugs and need to adjust the dosage. B. You aren't on drugs, but need to be. Maybe bi polar or something.
