FIFA WORLD CUP!

This is really one of my favorite times. I love watching International soccer, and this tournament is awesome. To those who watch a lot of international competition. What do you think of USA's chances to advance? IMO, I think USA has a pretty good draw and can make the next round along with England. Anyone have a sleeper pick? I think Portugal could be a "sleeper" might not be such a sleeper pick but the group they are in is nasty.

I think it'd be a major upset if they don't get out of the pool round. England is good but they're vulnerable and the US should be able to handle the other two teams if we ever hope to be legit. I think we've got an outside chance at being the top seed out of our pool. If I had to pick a couple sleepers I'd probably go with Germany and potentially Netherlands but I think they just had an injury. I believe Brazil and Spain are pretty heavy favorites. Argentina could do some damage as well.

I don't follow soccer much at all, but I can't imagine the US not getting out of pool play. The Brits will be a tough nut, but they should win the other two games rather easily.

There's been a lot of injuries leading up to this WC, and the US has a number of guys coming off of minor (Cherundolo, now Altidore) to major (Onyewu) injuries as well.

This one might be won by the team that stays healthiest the longest.

Still, everybody pretty much agrees that this is the 'easiest' group that the US has ever received, so we better make the most of it.

Can't wait for the World Cup to start, I think the US can make it out of group play but I'm on the fence on how we do after that because of all the injuries we've been dealt the past few months. Buddle was a surprise yesterday scoring 2 goals so hopefully we have some lesser known players ready to step up.

Sleeper pick = South Korea

US should be able to advance out of group play, but don't sleep on Slovenia and Algeria either. It isn't the "group of death" but it also won't be a cakewalk. It was nice to see Buddle get a couple in the tune-up against the Aussies.

I like the sleeper pick idea, I am going with Cameroon. (Would've taken Ivory Coast, but the Drogba situation is a little too touch and go for my taste.)
