At this point, I would say that I am about as interested in hearing what he has to say as he is about what I might think.

From the presser:

"Ferentz: Idea guys..I am not an idea guy."

That might explain some things.

Im surprised reporters even show up anymore. There really is no point, traveling and taking time out of their day to interview Kirk Ferentz.

That's not something a coach should readily admit. Of course, in Kirk's case, it didn't take a lot of investigative journalism to get to the bottom of this story, a real dog bites man blockbuster.

the idea guy was about the Uniforms, but don't let that get in the way of a good hate.
people like you scare me on just how long Fran will be turned on when he doesn't avg 25 wins a season, and has his 1st non 20 win season or worse his 1st losing season.. it happens Lute had at least 1 losing season, Ravelling had 1 losing season, Davis had 2 losing season and Alford had a losing season of course we know Lick had 3 and Fran had 1 to start with but heaven forbid he has another 1

You are hard to take serious because of your sentence structure and punctuation.

Slow down.

Honestly, I was more entertained by our 11-20 basketball team two years ago than I was by last year's 7-6 football team. Also, most of Alford's teams struggled with ball movement and flow, but played good enough D to be NIT-caliber. I didn't find his teams enjoyable to watch for the most part. I think Fran will be fine. Fry was fine through a few 5-6/5-7 seasons because the team still played aggressively and played a tough schedule. Ferentz is like Lick in that Lick would still be here if he had made a couple deep tourney runs early in his tenure and gotten good attendance.

That said, I wouldn't say Ferentz-ball has always been boring. When we were good, we were the Virginia Tech of the Big Ten and were good for a handful of game-changing special teams plays per year. Tell me: what are 2002, 2003, and 2004 without those. Sometime after that, Ferentz-ball turned into Tressel-ball without the athletes.

Nothing brings the idiots out of the woodwork like...

Ferentz on the fans: ..."I appreciate their support. It has been fantastic. I appreciate good things in life."

It has been fantastic (past tense) and "I appreciate good things in life".....cause I get paid millions of dollars and gave a quarter mil$ job to my son... and I'm not really even held accountable and have absolutely no reason to be concerned about my future millions.. LIFE IS GOOD

I know the idea guy was about the uniforms and not the offense or defense play calling or the quarterback play or anything how did this become about basketball I mean it was about Kirk's press conference it's interesting that Kirk says things like this I know what he was saying I just thought it was funny what does Tom Davis have to do with anything we should be talking about Greg Davis and you should really practice up on your use of the English language.

"Has" is not a past tense verb. "Had" is the past tense of the verb.

To demonstrate: This forum has been full of idiots lately. (Present tense)

I thought this forum had been over-run with idiots, until HWKS1 chimed in. (Past tense)

If you have more grammar questions, feel free to ask. I used to be a teacher, and am comfortable opening the door to the house of language for all who knock.

You had me at "has".
