Favorable Schedule?????

I am just curious why we (fans) keep referring to the schedule as favorable in 2010. 2009 was a dream with many close games. However, we lost 6 players to the NFL draft. This team will be different. This schedule reminds me of 2006 when we started anywhere from 12-16 in preseason polls. Similarly we had our ranked opponents at home and the historically weaker games on road. Losses at Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota in 06 did not turn out well. Home games against Ohio State and Wisconsin were also losses. Road games can always go either way. Our home games will have ranked teams gunning for us. I know 2010 defense will not be the same as the 2010 defense. But we do have many similarities to 2006 schedule. Defense will keep us in all our games this year. Looking at the schedule, I could see 8 of our games decided by a touchdown or less. I think we will be walking a tight line.

Generally if your hardest games are at home then the schedule is considered favorable.
PSU,UW,OSU are all at home and they are likely to be the best teams on the schedule.

I don't think that there is any way you can compare this team to the 2006 squad.

The only way this schedule could be more favorable is if OSU and Wisc were replaced with Purdue and Illinois
