Fan base: United?

I may be mistaken, but for a brief period starting yesterday, we may have reached some kind of rare territory for Iowa bb fanbase in the last 13-14 years...actual fan unity?

Now, I know that is probably will fade by the end of today, but as was pointed out in another thread...for a few days maybe, Iowa bb fans will not be in defined camps..
starting with the slow decline of Mr. Davis's popularity Iowa fans have been breaking into groups:

Pro-Mr. Davis
Time for Mr. Davis to retire
Pro-SA
Anti-SA
Pro-Lick
Anti-lick
Pro-Fran?

I think there will always be divisions on Mr. Davis...
I know there will always be divisions on SA
Lick? I think he will have very few loyalists
Which gives Fran a shot at bringing together all the camps, imo.
While I think everyone always wants the new coach to succeed, in Licks case, there were doubters all along due to his unique style of offense.
Now, with Fran, I think the vast majority like his offensive tempo, and his defensive approach.

Now, this will only last for a few days, as the inevitable issues pop up that fans will debate..ie. last scholly, transfers, next years scholly,ect...

But, for one brief moment, it is kind of nice to see most everyone on board. Lets hope it is not the high point of the Fran era.

Ok, shining moment over...go get recruits and win games Fran... or you will be gone!!!:)

Kumbayah my friend kumbayah...I for one am very happy with what I heard yesterday. SOmebody that said we, us, not Butler, Indiana....Fran is officially an IOWA GUY.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the fan base is united. There are a lOT of fans who still don't really know who he is, and a lot that are skeptical about Iowa hiring another mid-major.

We'll see in a year. If the team plays exciting basketball and improves their record...then you'll see a much more united fan base.

I think this guy may just get us there. From all accounts he is an excellent communicator and is serious about getting out there and talking to people and generating excitment.

I think he will have a lot of Iowa fans excited for next season by the begining of the season.

His tracdk record tells me he can do it, in terms of wins and that is ultimately what it will take. I hope he doesn't run into any bouts of bad luck until he has a real chance to get things off the ground.

One thing for sure is that the Iowa fan base needs to be re-energized/ united or whatever you want to call it. This guy seem like he just may be the guy none of us knew we needed all along.
