Fake recruit deemed a 3-star by Rivals

I don't believe it. That's like saying Patrick McCaffery would be ranked higher based on his last name. These recruiting experts know what they're doing. Rankings can not only be trusted, but they are also the sole factor we should rely on when predicting how good a player is compared to his peers. Don't let anyone try throwing stats and video at you like that dickhead running that Locure thread over on the recruiting forum.

I give KF credit for consistently making fun of recruiting sites - which I luv btw and take as gospel when they say what I want to hear.

Kirk is correct when he says "they are fine entertainment". Most of us who follow recruiting have known for a very long time that the offers dictate the stars. There was a legacy OL who wanted an offer from Iowa. He didn't get one. He did get one from the Buckeyes and over-night he went from unknown/unrated to the number 1 center in the nation. Later he transferred to Minnesota and then Iowa State to finish out his career.

BTW, KAKERT won't let this on his site. Typical.

This is why team rankings are a joke. Individual rankings are fine, but team ranking means next to nothing.

This brings back memories of Bobby Knight's fictional eastern European recruit Ivan Renko. He wanted to get back at the number crunchers who rate ninth and tenth grade kids, which Knight of course thought was ludicrous. Some "experts", who didn't want to look like they were out of the loop, claimed that they had seen Renko play. Making them look like fools, which was precisely Knight's point all along.
