Excitement building at Indiana

It will be interesting to see if this approach works. Indiana over the decades has found most of its fame on the basketball side of sports. Yet ever since Bobby knight left it’s been a slow decline from the heights it once had. Much like Nebraska in football. Nebraska under Osborne was among the elites and power houses…………… or so it seemed until they left the little kids table and came and sat with the grown ups at the B1G kids table.

If Indiana builds a successful program then that will prove it can be done. Tough situation though with the new alignment of the conference. There has been some talk floating around of another expansion of the playoff system goi going to a twenty-four team playoff. It got to happen to get the best teams in there.

As good as the big ten is are we going to see just two of the top teams chosen for the playoffs every year? How many will the SEC get? This system really hurts programs like Indiana. The best players want to play for all the marbles and so the old saying hold true “The rich gets richer, and the poor get poorer.”
