Excited

Have not commented much on BB yet this year. I have watched a few of their games including last night.
I know they are only 5-5 but I really like what I see.

Bohannon: Love the kid already. No fear. Calm. He is going to be one valuable Hawkeye for the next 4 seasons. Freshman outplayed their Senior All-American. Maybe our point guard worries are not quite so bad?

Wagner, Peml, Cook: Pretty damn imposing group there, physically.
Moss? Skies the limit for this kid.
Bair: Baby face assassin!

This team is going to be fun (and frustrating) to watch this year. The win last night was the first of four that this class will get to enjoy against ISU!

Gonna be some thrilling wins and some beat down losses, but I expect that with a youthful team. Freshmen are always inconsistent. But this is the ground floor and the elevator is headed up, baby! Enjoy the ride.

Williams and Bohannon have the two lowest PER on the team. The nice thing is with Jok, Pemsl, Cook and now Moss we just one of them to cut down on turnovers and feed them the ball

JB might not be a great individual player, but his strengths are exactly what this team needs. A player who spreads the floor and is good at feeding the post. Especially when we get Cook back and have two good scoring post players. Hopefully Moss can be the slasher that we are missing from the point position.

His defense is the most concerning thing

What a big win for this group. Nothing could bring that group together more than a win like that. Before now they seemed half lost out there and if they'd have gotten their butts kicked like most predicted things wouldn't be too positive for the rest of the year. But man that should bring them together. Should give the kids confidence in the coaches that they know what their doing. Not to mention it proves to themselves that they can defend against a quality opponent. Till now they hadn't really done that against anyone. We know that they have offensive weapons. But to play smart basketball late like they did was great. It looks like some of their roles are beginning to get more solidified which really helps too.

There were a couple of plays late in the game I thought showed good coaching/smart basketball. The out of bounds play where Jok started the inbound play sideways to JBo and jumped back in was brilliant. They've used that before in the past and it seems to work a lot. But it wasn't just that after he got it he pushed it up to Moss right away who then did his thing. To me that was the play of the game. Then it was how they didn't panic against the press and used their time outs. It'd have been nice if they wouldn't have used them all up quite that fast but it worked out just fine.

Oh hey 56, I see you are also complaining about Jordan and CW in multiple threads.....I am just relieved you are OK, I am always concerned about you after good wins.

There's a difference between complaining and correcting someone when they say someone is perfect for this team or saying someone is a baller when they have played pretty poorly all year. Also I don't even know the last time I talked about CW because everyone realized I was right on that one so it doesn't get brought up

No worries man. I'm just glad that you found a topic on this board that you were passionate enough to post about........it is tough I know for you with all the positive threads and all the Clone bashing and all for you to find a thread you are comfortable posting in.

I guess you've missed my posts where I talked highly of Moss today and where I said Prohm was classless in his post game presser. I'll gladly bash the Clones with you, they are not near as good as their fans think they are and they might not even make the NCAA's this year. They have a pretty talented roster but I'm not sure Prohm is a very good coach. He does seem to be a decent recruiter but if he can't win with this roster it's not going to matter for him in my opinion. It'll be McDermott 2.0

Clones not bring good = they must not be good because they lost to iowa.

Well losing to us with how we've played so far this year isn't helping their resume and will end up in the "bad loss" category but really if you look at their schedule the only good team they've beaten is Miami. They went from thinking about seeding to now just getting into the tournament

The one good thing going for the clones I suppose is they might be one more game closer to having Freddy come back.... Who'd bet against that? I don't see Prohm being there for long win lose or draw. And Freddy has gotten to see how tough the NBA world is. He's not going to get fired anytime soon but with Lebron in the East he can't be having any championship aspirations anytime soon and it'd only take one bad yr or so for the frustrations of the NBA giving him a yearning for home.

I have no idea what you said about Williams and don't care enough to look it up. I really like CW's. He has p/u some good rebounds and his height will help defensively in the future when he gets more experience.
