They may give up 70 points but they got them a bowl game

Texas Tech gets Minnesota at Reliant Stadium.

oh...and Duke is going bowling too.

I guess I'll just go sit in the creek.

i figured we'd get a bowl.

Rematch of the game back in 06 I think? When Soda gave up the biggest comeback in bowl history, Tech will roll in this one.

The Houston Bowl is actually a pretty fun one. Pretty envious of your bowl affiliations.

We're Iowa. We don't need your envy! We will hold a bowl game when we want. In fact, I heard there will be an impromptu bowl game held in a cornfield outside of Tiffin between Iowa and Coe College. How you like them apples?

Can't wait until the 7-win-minimum rule for potential bowl'ers goes into effect.

It'll go a long ways in wiping off the stench of the current bowl/exploitation system.

Further proof that the bowl system is way beyond watered down, and that simply "making bowl games" doesn't mean you have a great program.

Big deal. There are what? 30 bowl games? 120 Div I schools and the occasional Div II entrant. So, 50% fo the schools get bowls. Do any of you remember 1971? It meant something to get a bowl.......so much so that the Big Ten had a rule saying you could not go to the Rose Bowl in consecutive seasons........a rule which actually effected Iowa.

Have fun practicing in IC. Oh wait you can't.

Just curious...how many points is Iowa getting?

The only bad thing about this is that fewer B1G teams will be going bowling = less exposure = losing even more recruits to the Cyclones. If this rule were in place now, we'd have 3 fewer B1G teams in a bowl this year (MSU, Minny, Purdue).

Quality >>> Quantity

(and seriously, we want to trot out Minny and Purdue in front of a national audience as "examples" of Big-10 quality?? One doesn't have a coach and the other can't keep their's upright)
