ESPN- The great debate: Big Ten's best RB

I saw that. How is it even close?
Ball easy easy non con running up the score and racking up yards.
Rex, all they can do is run, so when you win, your yards are going to be good, now he is dinged and getting into the "grind" part of the year.
Redd, good back, no passing game again and they have some tough, tough games coming up.

All 4 of those guys have a pretty solid case IMO.

Ball gets Minnesota this Saturday so he may take over the rushing yards lead over Coker unless he has a big game as well. Leading the conference is yards & TDs is pretty tough to beat.

My guess is that Ball & Coker get 1st team All B10.

Ball is pretty dang good. I actually see some parallels between what Wisconsin had last year (Clay, Ball, White) with what Iowa should have next year.

  • Established battering ram that gets tough yards (Clay/Coker)
  • Great all-around back with power, vision and speed (Ball/McCall). We have no idea if this is what McCall will become, but if he can approach Ball's production it would be great.
  • Fast, shifty guy that provide a change of pace (White/Canzieri). White was pretty good last year, although the production has been way down this year.
I am knocking vigorously on wood right now so that this could actually play out. Combine those backs with a pretty veteran O-line that should be getting bigger between this year and next, throw in a TE that has been blocking like a steam-roller the past few weeks (CJF), and the ground game could be very solid. Knock, knock, knock.
