ESPN Revised Final Four Predictions

At least Fran is getting some buzz for Coach of the Year. The fact that Dakich has Indiana as one of his final four teams is ridiculous.

My gawd there's a ton of idiocy on that page. One guy had Iowa in the Final Four and then put Bill Self for coach of year LOL. Um, newsflash, if Iowa goes to the Elite 8, McCaffrey wins hands down.

I think the voting for coach of the year happens well before the postseason. So what they do in the tournament won't matter.

If Iowa wins the big ten then Fran basically has to be coach of the year.

It makes me wonder when these polls were conducted. Did Dakich pick Indiana before the penn State game? If so I could MAYBE see it. Also some people picked Xavier's coach for coach of the year. I wonder if they picked that before they lost yesterday to Creighton. Right now Xavier is 2 games back and probably won't even win a share of their own conference.

They've got a couple of NBAers on their team and people perceive us as winning due to executing well and not due to having enormous talent.

Yeah, but when those NBA players struggle with Rider, Penn State and Northwestern at home I'm not picking them with confidence to win it all.

It's like the Iowa/MSU games never happened

I think in college hoops it can come down to matchups. MSU does not matchup well with Iowa. They do not have a stellar pg and Forbes is small. AC took Forbes out of the game twice. DV is their best player but he isn't a big guy and got overwhelmed by Iowa quick size up in E Lansing. Then Iowa's shooters are just too big for MSU to hold off. Iowa this year may be the toughest matchup out there for MSU.

A team like MD is where Iowa will have the toughest matchup. They have elite size and that effected the shooters. Then have a really good pg that can get the big guys the ball in good position. But the real matchup that helps a team like MD is having a long big defender that can hang w JU. There aren't many teams that have one. If they do have one, they need to have another to keep Woody off the glass. MD has both. All that being said, even with a tough matchup for Iowa on the road, MG had a chance to tie w 90 ticks left.

Dakich having Beilein as coach of the year preseason is funny considering his son plays for Michigan. Not that Beilein is a bad coach. Just funny.

Coach of the year right now has to be Fran from where we were expected to finish. I don't understand Bill Self for coach of the year. Kansas has played some horrible looking games considering all their talent. I could see a case for Mack or Altman two days ago based on the season.

I like not seeing Iowa in a lot of the final four projections. Doesn't hurt to have people going against you. Feeling disrespected doesn't normally hurt teams. I believe this team has a ton of confidence in themselves.

I don't understand picking Maryland over Iowa.
It's probably about 50/50 right now, but it's not that hard to make an argument for them over us

They have one fewer loss on the season (and there's not that big of a gap on SOS)
They beat us head-to-head
They have enough athletic big men to keep Uthoff somewhat in check
They don't really seem to have any significant weaknesses
They seem to be playing their best ball right now
And I know I'll get killed for this... but they are ahead of Iowa on the "eyeball test"

Fran should be Coach of the Year...picked 9th in our conference as I recall. Michigan State is a logical Final Four choice because of their past NCAA success. But Michigan State doesn't have the guards to get there IMO. It actually takes some backbone to have Iowa in the Final Four. It's been over 30 years. So many of these clowns are just picking the teams that are there every year. Boston College almost beat North Carolina last night. It's going to be a crazy tournament. That's my prediction.

As bad as I have seen Kansas struggle offensively on a few occasions, it's hard for me to envision them stringing together 4 wins to get them to the final four

Making the final 4 has nothing to do with guarding Uthoff. And i don't understand how a team that went to OT vs Northwestern passes any eyeball test and if it does than the eyeball test is dumb (actually that's true already)

I'm not going to kill you. I'm going to suggest you watch more Maryland games. And I'm going to suggest you watch more games of other ranked teams. There are a few different teams I will pick in my NCAA brackets to beat Maryland.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw Kansas picked so many times.

Maryland has a great team, but Indiana will be no where to be found after the first round of NCAA. I hope Iowa gets another shot a Maryland. The first game was their worst game of the year and the lost by 6. They will win by double digits if the meet again. Indidan needs a coach with nuggets. Crean is a weak strategist. Over talented, under coached.

UNC has no chance of making the Final 4. I'd pick Kansas over them all day long. I think it's useless to try and pick the Final 4 before the brackets come out. There will be some wide open regions.
