ESPN/Fox teamed up on P12 deal to keep NBC out

Larry Scott is a heck of a businessman. He went in with a clear vision of what he wanted and an aggressive approach and got what he wanted. The Pac 12 schools should thank their lucky stars they got him.

Am i missing something here? Where is the ABC/ESPN contract? Also, I never knew we had a CBS contract???

Very interesting to see them almost desperate to get the Pac-12 rights and keep Comcast/NBC out of the mix considering the national interest in a majority of Pac-12 games is pretty low. I think the Pac-12 costs itself some $$ by insisting on first pick for some games, why not let the national TV partner carry the best game? By splitting it, ESPN and FOX got the rights and saved money.

It certainly helps Jon's argument that the Big Ten will get paid when its ESPN/ABC contract comes up for renewal. Just imagine how much ESPN, FOX, Comcast will be bidding for the Big Ten games that normally lead all of college football in viewership! I doubt they will want to split that contract.

That chart does seem off. Big Ten obviously has some ESPN/ABC contract that is not included, not to mention the additional $20MM/yr FOX is paying for the Big Ten Championship Game.
