ESPN Arizona Preview

Wow they lost both coordinators, 7 on defense. I feel a lot better about this game. Although returning 10 on offense is a bit scary, but with Clayborn and company on our defense, I think that's a wash.

I guess I see this a bit differently. While I agree Arizona may suffer some loss of continuity from replacing both coordinators, implementing a new coaching structure and having to replace more than half their starting defense, the returning players quoted in this story clearly seem embarrassed, hungry and ready to return to work.

Some of Iowa's best seasons have followed embarrassing bowl performances. If Stoops can keep them focused during the off-season, they could be tough in Tucson.

However, I still think Iowa wins this game.

Continuity is why Iowa can have a great year following an embarrassing bowl. Losing BOTH D and O coordinators is huge.

True. I just don't discount players playing with a chip on their shoulder all season, assuming Arizona has that type of leadership.
 
Wow. That corner back speaking out about home for Christmas was a direct slap to the face of Mike Stoops. This team lacks some serious leadership. I couldn't imagine an Iowa player speaking out like that, not even DJK.

I bet there a .500 team next season.
 
Losing two coordinators is significant. Losing 7 on defense in addition to the new coordinators is major.

Iowa catching Arizona early in the season is a good thing. It will take time for their team to gel with all the new faces.

It will be strength against strength when Iowa and Arizona match up. As I said many times before, bet on the team with the best defense. More times than not you will win the bet.
 
Will be a great early season game for Hawks and since Ricky has played his best football away from Kinnick I think Iowa wins a 27-10 as the defense is just too tough for the Wildcats.
