As for Iowa, Welsh is excited about what he’s heard so far. “I’ve only heard great things about Iowa,” said Welsh. “I’ve yet to go out there but (assistant) coach Brian Ferentz is really a cool guy. I’ve not met (head coach) Kirk Ferentz yet, but look forward to doing so. Coach (Brian) Ferentz came out to my school and watched me run through a few drills and I’m definitely excited to see where the process goes with them.
