Since we are in the the middle of the dry season for college football, I thought I would post a link to early college football lines you can bet on at the Golden Nugget ...
Golden Nugget College Football Games of the Year
After analyzing the lines I feel some teams are being overvalued and undervalued:
Overvalued -
LSU (+3 v UNC, +9 @ FLA, +4 v ALA, +1 @ AUB, +6 @ ARK)
Oregon (-6 v STAN, -10 v UCLA, -10 v WASH, -3 v OSU)
Penn State (+9.5 @ ALA, +3 @ IOWA, -10 v MICH, +7 v OSU, +10.5 v MSU)
Undervalued -
Stanford (+2 @ UCLA, +3 @ ND, +6 @ ORE, +3 @ WASH, +3 @ CAL)
UNC (-3 v LSU, -4.5 v GT, +2 @ MIA, +1 @ FSU)
Some interesting lines to me are:
1) 9/4 - LSU v UNC (-3) in Atlanta ==> LSU has only a handful of returning starters from a middle-of-the-road SEC team last year whereas UNC has one of the best defenses in the country. My money will be on UNC.
2) 9/6 - Boise State (-2.5) v Virginia Tech in DC ==> While I respect how good Boise State will be this year, this is a virtual home game for Virginia Tech. I just don't see the Hokies losing the game. While I'm not as confident as the LSU v UNC game, I like VT.
*) 9/11 - Iowa State @ Iowa (-14) ==> I never bet on this game. Look at 2008 when the late second safety switched all the money. I'm confident Iowa will win, but I just don't like betting on that game.
3) 9/11 - GT (-7) @ Kansas ==> Kansas is breaking in a new coach and Paul Johnson's system is good enough to beat Kansas by a couple of TDs. I'm betting on GT
4) 10/2 - Penn State @ Iowa (-3) ==> Iowa is normally rated as a -4 home team meaning the Golden Nugget feels Penn State is better than Iowa as a team (-1). All I have to say is wow. I thought this would be a 6 - 8 point line. This will be a huge bet for me.
5) 10/2 - Wisconsin @ Michigan State (Pick 'em) ==> Once again a very skewed line in my opinion. Wisconsin is a far superior team.
6) 10/2 - Stanford @ Oregon (-6) ==> Stanford is being completely underrated in my mind with the early lines and Oregon's team is in disarray. I'm thinking the first weekend in October might be a good weekend to head to Vegas for some real action.
7) 10/9 - Pitt @ Notre Dame (-3) ==> I think this is an overvalue of Notre Dame and an undervalue of Pitt which makes it a great game to wager on.
8) 10/30 - Alabama (-4) @ LSU ==> LSU is being heavily overvalued right now. The defending national champions should roll LSU, even in Baton Rouge.
9) 11/13 - Penn State @ Ohio State (-7) ==> Often this game is a competition between teams of equal skill, but this year Ohio State is a lot better than Penn State. This line should be closer to -10 in my opinion.
10) 11/20 - Stanford @ Cal (-3) ==> Stanford is being undersold this year and will be clearly the better team heading into this game. This line should be closer to even or Stanford by 1 or 2.
I don't know how many other college football betting guys are on this board, but I found it interesting.
