Early games can be decieving

i remember my freshman year at Iowa 69-70 we Lost several to start the year and went on to be undefeated in Big Ten. Of course we had Fred Brown and John Johnson Vidnovic and Calebria. Unfortunately this team doesnt have that kind of talent but still could be competitive and make the tournament. Lack of athleticism especially at guard really makes defense a huge question. Lets hope Fran can figure it out in his 8th year. He really needs to make the tournament

At least I think most people would agree we wont have to worry about losing Cook after this year to the NBA

It's early but it depends on how Iowa responds tomorrow and Wednesday.

Northwestern lost a couple games already, albeit to better teams than Louisiana

It would be different if we lost because we were ice cold. But that's not how it went down. At least in the last 3 halfs of basketball.

Yes. Early games can be deceiving. The 1969-70 team started the season 4-4 and then went undefeated in the Big 10 and finished the season 20-5, losing in the NCAA tournament to Artis Gilmore's Jacksonville team. To contrast that, the 1993-94 team started 6-3 and finished the season 11-16.

Even though it's round, the basketball can take some funny bounces.
