Duke = weak sauce

And just think... It could've been Iowa..... UMass and Mercer on a path to the Sweet 16 and beyond.

Duke is losing this game just to mess with my head.

Oh yeah, would could've been.......

We screwed the pooch losing to a mediocre TN team. They may just be able to make a mini run.

Iowa is sitting at home for a reason. Easy to say oh what might have been could say that every year, the sad truth is Iowa would lose to most of these teams playing right now. IMO This type of thread is weak sauce to me, no offense OP.

The teams playing and advancing right now believe in one another and more importantly play as a team. I like watching teams that let it all hang out and love playing the game..

Not real sure after what I saw today that I'd rather play Mercer then Duke. Also wouldn't guarantee that the winner of UMASS vs. Tenn. has a walk in the park to advance.

Duke makes 15 three pointers and still loses much less talented team.

Really sad that iowa could have had the easitest path to the sweet sixteen in years. Doesnt mean they would have won but still. If marble could have played half as well as he did im the nit last year we could have beat Tennessee by double digits, it would have opened up the offense. Sad face....

Oh Iowa...what might have been

That is the story of Iowa football/basketball.

This is why:

1. You don't take any team for granted.

2. You play every game like it is for the championship.

Iowa coud have had the easiest path to the Sweet 16 they have ever had....but instead are watching the games from their couch and kicking themselves over the opportunity they lost.

Except that I've been watching Iowa hoops for 30 years, and this is the first time in as long as I can remember, that there has been a major upset in what would have been Iowa's part of the bracket. Every year Iowa has been there, everything has held to form quite nicely. Just would've been nice to see Iowa have a shot at UMass today, and Mercer on Sunday, and see what can happen from there, given that FINALLY the path was cleared a bit with a big upset. Yeah, no guarantee Iowa would win today or against Mercer, but still.. Moot point now.

Agreed, but regardless of who we'd play they still would have won to get there. So regardless of Duke being gone. We'd still have to play UMASS and win and then beat Mercer. Regardless of whether it would have been us playing Mercer, I'm still not sure we'd be the better team. Anyone that advances at this point advanced for a reason.

What about Northwestern State? That fits the definition of Mid-Major Upset in Iowa's part of the bracket.
