Dochterman just put this out there. https://www.landof10.com/iowa/heres-iowa-strength-coach-chris-doyle-makes-significant-money
Was that at the end of last yr or whenever that was when Iowa made waves with the raise they gave him? It shouldn't have floored me that some in the college football world thought that was a negative thing. Yet it kinda did. I mean really? Doyle is as much a reason for the success the team has as anybody and nobody knows/acknowledges that more then KF hence the raise. You can almost run down the names of seniors in every class since 99 that he's helped go way above and beyond their 2 star or even 3 ratings.
For those that say he doesn't deserve/earn it either don't comprehend how things work. Or they just want to try keeping the middle of the road schools right there and not let them get better. Because is that not what that means? By devaluing a guy like Doyle and perhaps pushing him out (I'm sure other schools would love to have paid him more over the years) that would keep schools like Iowa down if their strength programs aren't either on par with or ahead of the Bamas of the world.
I think he's worth every penny. Every kid that's ever spent time in the program seems to make it a point to thank him along with KF and the other coaches. The success they had and continue to go on to have is the proof in the pudding.
