Eventually Iowa needs to win one or two of these, but for now, this is still a good team that will make the tournament.

We can't beat ranked teams. I give up.
 
Awful guard play again. Gesell, Clemmons and Oglesby did nothing. Gesell and Clemmons have digressed and Oglesby is so one dimensional it is painful. Brust played circles around all 3 of these guys.
 
Key is winning at home, every game, and going 60% on the road. Don't think this team has the FT shooting to contend for any title, but a 4th place finish should be reachable.
 
We need Gesell to turn the corner. He is not having a good season for sure. We need him

That would be like 14-4. I am sure that is not the minimum needed.
 
Not giving up. Still think Hawks will beat those they should. Becoming apparent after 3 blown dbl-digit leads that Iowa is not ready for prime time...from Coach Franatic to all the key missed freebies & all in between.
 
Always find a way to lose, but we have a fun team to cheer for now and going forward. It's hard to win away from home and this very good team keeps proving this.

Like the new rotation, except JO added nothing, and Uteoff seemed to lose some time" WIsh White would have been more aggressive early. Woody just can't move well enough to keep from fouling. Gessel has courage, but not delivering on offense.
 
No one is giving up. But we do need a signature win. Shoulda had 1 by now. Coulda been isu, coulda been wisconsin, coulda been villanova. All winnable games but Hawks wilted down the stretch in every one.

Tough to win on the road I guess.
 
I've said it in another thread so sorry if it's repetitive but I think worth stating again... win at home, steal a few on the road. Obviously this was one we should have stole. However, we still haven't lost at home.
 
I really expected this to be one of our losses before the game. Even with Fran's outburst we could have won with few baskets around the basket. No excuse to miss such close chances.....

Better three point defense could have helped. The one from a wide open Brust in the corner was inexcusable. You guard the hot player who is nailing threes. Prevent him from getting the ball......

We did do an excellent job defending Decker, but Brust took over.....
 
We will lose 3/5 more games at least and will finish in the top tier of the Big Ten and make the tournament. This is a good team. Kohl is similar to Hilton as far as fan support and intimidation is concerned. We will adjust as the season goes on.....

I'm not sure what Gesell was doing the last three minutes, penetrating every possession when we desperately needed 3's.

Some things need "cleaned up", but we are hardly near "panic" mode, let alone "desperation" mode.

This team will make the NCAAs. The question is whether we can clean up the mistakes and issues (missed FTs, inconsistent 3-pt. shooting, inconsistent defense).
