Does Iowa move Up???

ND and Stanford are both one loss teams and both had near misses Saturday. Granted ND did beat a ranked team but ranked 23rd. Stanford barely escapes an un-ranked team. Iowa handily defeats Maryland to stay undefeated and move to 8-0. Does Iowa jump to 8 and ND and Stanford tie for 9?

It could happen...and we'll surely gain some points on them to eventually slide up a spot or two (in those polls)...

However, it really doesn't matter what the coaches or press rank us, cause the only poll that matters comes out on Tuesday and "could" even have us ranked much higher than the 8, 9, or 10 hole.

Not by winning, nope, sad to say.

We need to both win, *and*, teams above us to lose in order to move up.

Defeat Indiana there. One game only.

Keep winning. Polls?!
Just win the next game on the schedule.
Indy has a bye week to prepare for their final 4 games.

They will be salivating for a top ten ranked team entering their house.

All hands on deck!

Big 12 teams will be beating up on each other and only 1 may survive. Same with SEC teams and if Iowa can keep winning they will move up. Maybe not this week in the AP poll.

I expect them to be between 6th and 8th when the CFP standings come out on tuesday. Everyone will be ******. It will be glorious

I believe this is what will happen in the AP poll. In the one that matters Tuesday... who knows?

Edit: Sorry, thought I hit reply with quote... was responding to BigD.

Won't it depend on how much the committee factors in Iowa's remaining schedule? The committee is still making arbitrary decisions, right? It is still (somewhat) a popularity contest, right?

It's inevitable that when the BCS rankings come out, we'll be between 3-6 and people will freak out and go crazy and actively, in the future, rank us lower and lower to get us out of the playoff zone. If we keep winning, just watch it happen.
